Winter 2017 Update:

Blue Hills Brewery is undergoing restructuring, which takes time to sort out. Our end goal is still to build a craft brewery at a new location in the Canton area with a tap room and serve the best tasting and enjoyable craft beer around. Unfortunately, at this time, we do not have a specific date to offer our customers as to when and where we will be back up and running.

Blue Hills Brewery appreciates all of the inquires we have received as to our current status and future endeavors. More importantly, we appreciate the relationships that have been built over the past eight years with our customers that share our passion of enjoying delicious craft beer.

We hope that you enjoy this holiday season, spend time with your family and continue to support the local beer scene on the South Shore and beyond.

Current Offerings:

Black Hops

This black hybrid ale is a style of its own creation. Truly original, we base the grain bill after the infamous German Schwarzbier, a drinkable beer with a depth of dark color. This is accomplished using hops to bitter the beer rather than roasted malts common in styles like stout or porter.
For our masterpiece, we use our house ale yeast to produce a fuller flavor than the lager versions found in Germany. Once fermented we “lager” or cold store the ale, which tones down the aroma produced in top fermentation. What’s left is the satisfying aroma of chocolate malt and citrus, followed by a malty, hoppy, and slightly dry taste. Our Black Hops delights the ale or lager customer alike.

Style: Kolsch / Strong Pale Ale
ABV: 7.5% / 60 IBU
Blue Hills Brewery is proud to team up with the legends of Boston hardcore rock, TREE, to release our first band collaboration beer. Dave Tree, an East Coast musical icon, worked side by side with our Brewmaster to create a beer that can be enjoyed by the common man as well as craft beer lovers. They brewed a strong pale ale (7.5% ABV), with a beautiful yellow body and an aromatic hop profile.  This beer is the result of a local band and a local brewery coming together to give the people what they want. Look for it on draft all around the Boston area. Ask for it by name.....TREE BEER!

Blue Hill IPA

Style: I.P.A.
ABV: 6.6% / 72 IBU
Our flagship, this IPA has a fiery amber color and a note of citrus stemming from the American Summit and Golding hops. At 6.6% ABV/72 IBU, this is tasty ale with a smoothness rarely found in other East Coast I.P.A.s. A great balance of malt and hop, the IPA has the trademark big hop flavor without the bitterness.

Quarter Mile Double IPA

Style: Double I.P.A.
ABV: 8.0% / 72 IBU
To celebrate four years of making hand crafted beers, we brewed a hefty Double IPA for hop heads. The term “quarter mile” refers to the length of road for muscle cars to race. This beer has some muscle to it also, weighing in at 8% ABV/72 IBU and brewed with generous amounts of Goldings, Summit, Liberty, and Nugget hops.

Imperial Red I.P.A.

Style: Double I.P.A.
ABV: 9.0% / 66 IBU
This high gravity offering (9.0%ABV/66 IBU) is the lovechild of an IPA and Red Ale. The result is the sweet malt flavor of a Red Ale while also delivering the super hop flavor of the IPA. We use twice the amount of hops as the IPA including 8 pounds of which are used in dry hopping to give the beer a potent punch. This is a love beer, packaged unfiltered for bottle conditioning to continuously breathe life into the complex flavor profile.

Seasonal Offerings:

Watermelon Wheat

Style: Hefeweizen
ABV: 4.8% / 16 IBU
Available: March through September
We take our Wamaptuck Wheat beer and add an all-natural extract, to give this 4.8% ABV beer a wonderful fruit flavor. Not overly sweet, this beer is a great treat on a warm afternoon (4.8% ABV/16 IBU).

Imperial Oktoberfest

Style: Marzenbier
ABV: 7.4% / 17 IBU
Available: September through October
Fall into a traditional German-style lager this autumn with our Imperial Oktoberfest beer. Brewed in the spirit of the change of seasons, this refreshing Marzenbier (7.4% ABV/17 IBU) obtains its flavor from Munich and Vienna malts carefully balanced with a helping of Hallertau hops. The combination of ingredients is sure to make this limited release a cool weather favorite.

Style: Dunkelweizen
ABV: 6.9% / 15 IBU
Available: September through February
This is a dark German hefeweizen, better known as a Dunkelweizen (dunkel meaning dark in German). We accomplish this through a generous addition of dark roasted malts which add not only the color but an overlay of chocolate roasted flavors. This is a complex beer at 6.9% ABV/15 IBU, with a rich flavor matrix stemming from a grain bill that’s more than 60% wheat, German Noble hops, and fermented using our Bavarian yeast strain.

Three Peak Imperial Stout

Style: Stout
ABV: 9.0% / 42 IBU
Available: October through February
The rocky hills overshadowing the brewery were our inspiration for this hearty offering. Roasted malt provides rich notes of chocolate to the body of this creamy yet smooth ale (9.0%/42 IBU). As the days get shorter and the weather colder, this robust stout will be a wonderful libation at all festive gatherings.
